Every first Friday of the month I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by hunky men at Bubu, Belfast premiere Bear Night at Dubarrys Bar, and photograph them to boot!

For a special surprise, this Belfast Pride Edition of BUBU (http://bubuclub.co.uk) had a little extra something - I took some portraits of the lucky punters who were down early and willing to get posing!

After three years of working hard and capturing thousands of images my trusty Nikon D80 has finally been laid to rest.
It's sexy, younger replacement is the Nikon D7000, this is the first image I took as a test shot.

I first became aware of Matthew's work around 5 years ago. I was in my own little love affair with photography and I remember reading his blog and seeing how much fun could be had behind a camera.

I'm not the only one who's been inspired by his imagery, and it's hard not to be, his portraiture alone is always fresh and interesting.

Covering his face in glitter and drag artists rolling around the floor was a far cry from everything else I was seeing.

He's been working professionally as a photographer in portraits and fashion, documenting the London club scene with MegaMegaMega and had exhibitions in London and Berlin. As well as all this ongoing work, he has had guest appearances on Britain's Next Top Model, opened Studio Key in North London and has an upcoming book of portraits.

It's safe to say Brindle's a busy boy.

Also known as part of Studio Dronio, this hot Italian couple are both talented and inspirational illustrators and photographers. They live and work in Bologna, Italy and have been published internationally with clients and collaborators that include PSM magazine, Belfe Sport, GOLPE! and Marvel.

Their combined body of work varies from cute 'chibi' portraits, through hot fashion and portraiture photography, right up to zombie-infested scenes like the one above.

Needless to say I'm a huge fan.

It was so refreshing to get to meet these two men, their work is never monotonous, never boring and they have such passion when they talk about it

Their likes include zombies, beards, vampires, tattoos and, luckily for me, ginger hair.

Moved into my new flat.
My own place after 5 years.
Can't say I'm not pleased.
5 years of house sharing in Belfast, 5 years of arguements, being left to pay bills, clean houses and deal with the shit from landlords and TV licensing people. 5 years of let downs and moving. 5 years of crappy job and uni stress. 2 failed relationships. countless haircuts. new piercing. new camera. new laptop. new me.

All culminating in my own little 1 bed, ground floor, corner of the world.

big enough to fit in some studio space too.
how's that for a bit of karma?

Big Gay Fundraiser @ Black Box

2010 is the year of the Red Bear

I changed the settings on this blog, and my other blog, to warn that there may be adult content.
This doesn't mean I myself will be posting risque stuff, but occasionally I will be posting links and images from artists and photographers I'm inspired by. I wont be able to take responsibility if their work is a bit too much for the over-sensitive.

That said, I've been wanted to do more explorative work, use my creativity rather than just make pretty pictures. So my [figurative] ass may end up on show a bit more.
I've found myself in a real Work Mode. I come home from my day job to find myself bursting to make things, do things, anything. Which makes a nice change from wanting to sit and watch TV and drink tea.
Just need some willing models. Facebook casting call? I think so. Roll on January when I'll have a decent way of taking and editing shots.
